Privacy Policy
Who we are
SumnuIQ is published by Eric Lewis under the Sumnu name. Privacy requests go to sales@sumnubooks.com. Please include the address of the page and enough detail for us to find the record you mean.
What we collect
SumnuIQ collects only what is necessary to operate the service:
- Email address, only if you create an account or request a report
- Display name, entered by you
- Test session data: answers, timing, and scores
- An IP address hash for abuse prevention, not stored in readable form
- A browser session token for authentication
What we do not collect
- We do not ask for a phone number or a home address
- No payment data is collected — this service is currently free with no purchases
- We do not ask for health, ethnicity, religion, or similar sensitive categories
- The service is not directed at children under 13
How we use your data
Session data is used to show your score, draw a share card, and keep a leaderboard entry when you submit a name and the session is not flagged. Account data is used to show the dashboard. We do not sell your test answers.
Advertising script
The site loads Google’s AdSense library. Ad units are not currently displayed, and this policy’s September 22, 2026 update does not switch them on. Because that library loads, Google may receive technical data such as browser and page information according to Google’s own policies. If ad units are enabled later, this section will be updated before that change, and Google may then use cookies to measure and serve ads. We do not describe the current site as free of all third-party requests while that script is present.
Data retention
Score data tied to an account is kept until you delete the account or ask us to delete it, and in any case we aim to hold it no longer than two years. You may request deletion at sales@sumnubooks.com. In-browser session scores disappear when the page session ends unless an account stored them.
Your rights
- Access to the account data we hold
- Correction of a display name or email you submitted
- Deletion of the account record
- A copy of the scores stored on the account, where we have them
Write to sales@sumnubooks.com. We aim to answer within a reasonable time and, for a straightforward deletion request, within 48 hours of reading it.
Cookies and local storage
Sign-in uses a session token in the browser. The quizzes also keep the current session in memory so a refresh can lose an in-progress test. We do not require an account cookie to take a test.
